Explorer Program

The  Goldsboro Fire Department Explorer Program is open to all individuals in Wayne County between the ages of 14 – 20 with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of Fire & Emergency Services.

Fire & Emergency Services Exploring is a hands-on program that exposes participants to many career experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within fire and emergency services and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and country.

This program was established to help young individuals who have an interest in becoming a firefighter gain knowledge and have formal training to help prepare themselves to become a firefighter. This program is led by our Assistant Chief of Training & Safety and can be reached at 919-580-4260 for more information or to obtain an application.
