Effective January 1. 2024, Goldsboro Fire Department will start charging for fire inspections. This will be a new charge for Goldsboro businesses; however, this is not a new concept as this is standard practice in the fire service. This initiative was presented to the City Council in 2021 and included in the Schedule of Fees in the FY24 budget.
Fire inspection schedules are set forth by North Carolina building and fire codes. Fee schedules are included in the City of Goldsboro Schedule of Fees linked below. Billing will be noted on the provided inspection and collected by a third-party company (Fire Recovery).
